What's So Amazing About Thailand?

The Kingdom of Thailand attracts more visitors than any other South East Asian country with its relaxed way of life, friendly people, white sand beaches, bustling cities, hilltribes, jaw dropping scenery, ancient ruins, temples, amazing flora and fauna and of course their delicious cuisine and great shopping bargains.
Thailand is just less than double the size of New Zealand and has a population of over 65 million. It shares its borders with Malaysia to the south, Myanmar (Burma) to the east, landlocked Laos to the north west and Cambodia to the south west.
People & Culture
The Thai’s are proud and fun-loving people. Almost all are Buddist and this reflects very much in their culture, even in moden city life.
Climate
It’s the tropics! So expect that exotic hot and humid feeling, especially in the south and Bangkok. Check out the different areas for more specific information.
Scenery
Some of Thailand’s land and seascapes are among the most easily recognised in the world. There’s the postcard shot of Phuket’s white sand beach with turquoise waters. Hollywood movies have also had famous scenes shot here – James Bond “The Man with the Golden Gun” movie and “The Beach” starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Along the Mekong river you’ll find picturesque farming villages and to the north, colorful hilltribes and ancient walled cities.
Hotels
There’s an excellent choice of hotels here. From budget to boutique to luxury. Let us know what you’re after and we’ll try and match you up with the most suitable hotel. (Photo: The Four Seasons in Chiang Mai)
Dining
The Thai’s have the most amazing food. It’s spicy and simply delicious. Thailand is the best place to learn their secrets too with plenty of cooking schools around. If you’re one of the few that just don’t enjoy their delicasies, you’ll find Western menus almost everywhere as well as the usual lineup of McDonalds and KFC.
Shopping
If you’re keen on spending some Baht, then make sure you spend some time in Bangkok where several days can easily be filled up with shopping in markets, alleys and malls.
Animals
Famous for it elephants, it’s easy to join a tour to go on an elephant ride. Worthy of a day out is a trip to a snake and crocodile park where you’ll get to see these reptiles up close.
Adventure and Sports
Diving and snorkelling, rockclimbing, jungle trekking, bamboo rafting, sea kayaking and more golf courses than you could throw a stick at.
