Chaweng Beach

Chaweng Beach is the longest beach on Koh Samui and has the most hotels, restaurants, entertainment and shopping. The beach is typically Thai, with sun drenched white sand, emerald waters and plenty of coconut palms.

Unlike Patong Beach in Phuket, a lot of hotels are true beachfront which creates a lovely beach atmosphere with mellow music playing at their bars along the beach.
The main road runs parallel to the beach and is jammed with all sorts of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Accommodation ranges from small backpackers bungalows to five star luxurious resorts. Note that the main road is prone to flooding in parts during rainy season which can cause motorbike breakdowns if it’s too deep and traffic jams. All part of the rainy-season experience!
