The beach is generally uncrowded even though it’s the second longest on the west coast after Patong. Recently built is a wide promenade running the length of it, perfect for morning jogs or late afternoon strolls. Like Patong, hotels are located across the road from the beach. Note that from May to October swimming can be dangerous due to strong undertows but experienced surfers take on the big waves that roll in between June and September. Between November and April the beach is calm and serene.
